Where It All Began

AIIC—DIOCESE INDIAN CHRISTIAN MARRIAGES ACT 1872

AnAct in regards to Christian marriages was brought into existence by decoding the terms in the following
manner.
The 1872 Act was enacted by the migrated British rulers. Thousands of English Christians got settled in
India by that time for various reasons. Because of the Preaching of the Gospel by the Christian Preachers, lakhs
of Gentiles Embraced Christianity. The Word “Christians” suggests foreign Christians who settled here and the
word “Indian Christians” suggests to those who embraced Christianity from other religions.

Sunday Worship Services

If the Pastors/reverends are appointed through the Aiic- Diocese, the marriage should be performed
according to the terms and conditions of the concerned Church and according to the rites and customs of
the diocese.
If it is the Clergymen of the Scotland, the marriage should be performed according to the Convention that
is practiced in Scotland.
The clergyman of the Church in Scotland and any Priest is in Scotland Licensed to perform the marriages
under the Act.

Children's Ministry

Our Children’s Ministry offers a fun and safe environment for kids to learn about God through interactive lessons, games, and activities. We aim to nurture their spiritual growth from a young age.

Youth Group

The Youth Group provides a space for teenagers to connect, grow in their faith, and serve the community. With regular meetings, events, and mission trips, there’s always something exciting happening.

By incorporating these suggestions, the services page of a church-related website can effectively communicate the diverse ways people can participate and grow within the church community.

Community Outreach

The marriage should be performed in the presence of the Registrar of Marriages appointed under this
Act.(In case of marriages performed in the Office of the Registrar, the details of the Couple will be put on
the Notice Board One month before the marriage. The marriages will be performed after 30 days).
Aiic-Diocese pastors, reverends are authorized to issue certificates in respect of the marriages between
Indian Christians.
Registrar General of Birth ,Death and Marriage certificates means Registrar General appointed under
the Birth ,Death and Marriage Registrations Act, 1886.According to the 1886 Act, The pastors who are
authorized from the Aiic Diocese can issue the Birth, Death and Marriage certificates.
